We are a tiny congregation with a huge mission, situated in the heart of Ardwick in Manchester. We share God's love and Jesus' message with our neighbours, and our building to serve the local community and others.
We follow the Word of God - The Bible, the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The church building is used by S.P.I.N. (Supporting People In Need) to provide accommodation for rough sleepers and hot meals for the wider community. There is also a food pantry, a community garden in which anyone may relax, and plenty more. A furniture project recycles second hand furniture both for sale and for those in need, and provides opportunities for volunteers to gain skills and working experience.
Our Sunday Service is currently on-hold during the lockdown period, and whilst the main church area is being used to store furniture. The Sunday Service was led by Pastor George Ratnaraj (Raj) and Paul Smitton, and will resume after lockdown once a new home has been found for the furniture project.
Our active Tamil Ministry is led by Pastor George Ratnaraj (Raj). As well as leading the English and Tamil services at Coverdale, Raj travels the length of the UK serving the wider Tamil community, holding meetings in homes, preaching to other congregations, and ministering overseas by phone and internet. Raj is married with two daughters and works for a Manchester-based housing association.
